Donovan feels the pain in Costa Rica

Ricardo Saprissa Stadium

According to local media, Landon Donovan recently made some interesting comments to CONCACAF press on Costa Rica´s home stadium for the upcoming FIFA qualifiers. ¨I´ve never took part in any game, anywhere in the world, where you can feel so much passion and pressure¨, said Donovan. ¨You can feel the stadium shake when you´re in the dressing room¨, he also declared. It is well known that every CONCACAF team (including team USA) has a hard time playing in San Jose, the stadium has a box-like structure so the fans are literally breathing on every player, and you dont want to be the visiting team…

The Saprissa stadium has an artificial pitch and it can hold up to 20,000 fans. It is not a huge stadium but when you´re in it you can really feel the intense pressure. It seems to me that Landon Donovan is not really helping his team mates making these statements, but he cant help it, team USA always bites the dust when they play in San Jose…
