They better not start a game
Costa Rica’s subs may have just distanced themselves even more from a place in the starting lineup for a World Cup game. Playing today against a team formed by amateur German players from the country’s third, fourth and fifth divisions, the Ticos subs were humbled by a score of 3-2. Goalkeeper Jose Francisco Porras managed to return from injury and get in the game for the first half, but that wasn’t enough for the Central Americans, who fielded a side with substitutes from their roster. Should Germany have any concerns about Costa Rica? Of course this was just a friendly, and mainly with subs, but if an amateur German team can beat Costa Rica, why wouldn’t the National team of Germany be able to do so? Oh, the beauty of sport.
