Team wins warmup match
Costa Rica got to action in training this weekend, playing an amateur side from the city of Lahr, where the team is staying in preparation for the World Cup. Trying to see most of his players in action, coach Alexandre Guimaraes used almost the entire roster, fielding two different teams in each half. And in the end it was the second half team that proved to be a bit better, scoring twice to set up the 2-0 final score. Rónald Gómez and Harold Wallace scored the goals. Since it was just a training match, Guimaraes wasn’t so worried about the end result. Rather, the game served its purpose of getting the players into action. Next up, on Wednesday, the team will have a tougher test, playing Catalunya in Barcelona.
