So it wasn’t meant to be Costa Rica’s World Cup. With two losses in as many games, the Ticos are done. Congratulations to Ecuador for its superb play. May the South Americans go far in the tournament, something which would definitely make me happy. They proved today they can be a strong side to play against, taking advantage of the spaces Costa Rica gave them while holding the fort back in defence. To Costa Rica, all that is left to play in Germany now is the National pride. May the Ticos leave the Cup on a high note on Tuesday, in the game against Poland - also without hopes of advancing.

Bad luck to Costa Rica. Ecuador’s performance the other night was absolutely brillant, but the Ticos still had some good chances.

I hope they throw everything they’ve got at the Poles so they can truly walk away with their heads held high.

Nice words–I am an American living in Costa Rica and really cheered them on and the game was very disappointing against Ecuador! But, like I said to everyone–they are still a great team and they wouldn’t have been here at this final majestic moment if they weren’t–and yes, let’s just watch them play their last game and no matter what–they can hold their heads high! I used to live in Australia so I can’t wait to see the Aussies take on the Brazilians on Sunday!!!! That will be fun!

It’s only a game–don’t worry be happy!
