Guimaraes upset after loss to German amateurs
Coach Alexandre Guimaraes was quite upse after his team’s loss in a training match against amateur players from Kurpfalz, in Germany. According to him, the Costa Rican players - substitutes in the National team that had the chance to play against this German side - seem to be failing to grasp that they are wasting away precious opportunities to show their talent and prove they deserve a place in the starting team. “Some players will not really get much consideration when I decide who’s going to play in the World Cup,” said Guimaraes, clearly upset with the lack of effort shown by some players. Since there are no other warmup matches scheduled for Costa Rica, one can only hope this final week of training will provide enough for the Ticos before the opening match against Germany, one week from today.
