Guimaraes disappointed
After the match against Catalunya, coach Alexandre Guimaraes said in a press conference that he expected more from his players. Despite acknowledging the 2-0 loss had been a fair result, Guimaraes did not like his team’s performance in relation to the passive behaviour when the opponent was passing the ball, and also against the pressing style played by the Europeans. He pointed to the team that he is going to use the friendlies to make decisions about the team that will start the game against Germany on June 9. “However, it’s still better that it happened now than during the World Cup,” said Guimaraes, who will try to correct the mistakes he observed during the friendly before Sunday’s match against Ukraine, in Kiev.
