Costa Rica “Begging” Scandal
Costa Rican FEDEFUT officials are being accused of “begging” in asking for free accommodations for 85 people AND $300,000 in cash from hosts Germany. Apparently someone misunderstood the concept of the “guests in our house” motto of Germany 2006. An embarrassed federation president mumbles something about “it never hurts to ask”… Hmmmm. And of course Costa Rica does get $3,000,000 for participation anyway. Germany actually did offer some freebies for the Ticos but not what they wanted… Now it’s a scandal! AWKWARDDDDD!!!
